My story so far
As early as I can remember, I've been interested in sports and health. I always tried to fuel my body to its optimum. Six years ago, I went plant-based as a test for a week to see if I could do it (I love a challenge!) After that week, to my surprise, I felt really good. I then challenged myself to a month. After that month, I still felt great. I then decided to wean myself off poultry - that had become my only vice as I had given up milk around ten years ago. I then went pescatarian for a month prior to the plant-based journey. I found myself getting super interested in learning the benefits of every food I came into contact with, good food combinations of what I needed to eat to get all the vitamins from A-K. You name it, I was determined to learn it. After around six months of self-learning, I improved physically and mentally. I did lose a lot of weight, but my journey wasn’t about the aesthetics - I really enjoyed how much better my body felt after that first week. All the self-development paid off as I started to feel the best I’ve ever felt in my life. I started to put on the weight I lost. My muscle contractions felt stronger than they’ve ever been, too! I started experimenting in the kitchen and, along the way, developed a love for making tasty foods with whatever I had lying around at home. Using spices predominantly found in India and produce heavily used in Nigerian and Caribbean cuisine, I started to find my feet with food, creating delicious dishes.
